WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

Estancia Rincon del Socorro is a charming, luxury eco-lodge and former cattle ranch nestled in 12,000 hectares of vibrant lake, marsh and gallery forest. Dating back to 1896, the lodge was purchased by ecologist and philanthropist Douglas Tompkins in the late 90’s to spearhead a conservation project aiming to extend and upgrade the Ibera Natural Reserve within a new Ibera National Park. The lodge retains the estancia’s original character with unobtrusive outbuildings dotted throughout the lush gardens all under the shade of resident palms. Inside, the lodge oozes charm with stylish wooden furniture and throws complimenting the classic checkered floor tiles. The restaurant focuses on all things organic, with ingredients picked from the impressive vegetable garden and orchard. Free-range meats are grilled over traditional “asado” barbeques and meals are simple, unfussy affairs yet delicious and well balanced. The star of the show, however, is the wildlife, and the lodge offers fully inclusive packages with guided excursions into the wetlands by foot, horse or boat accompanied by expert, naturalist guides.
