LIBREVILLE
Libreville is Gabon’s most central city, boasting a beautiful coastal boulevard, bustling markets, fantastic road networks and other infrastructure testifying to the city’s oil wealth. The city also has energetic nightlife and is awash with oil money. Pavements, clean streets, smart restaurants and large gated villas are the first impressions of the town. Please stay longer, and you’ll discover Libreville’s essential African heart with typically busy residential areas and noisy street markets.
LOANGO NATIONAL PARK
Loango National Park’s warm streams crisscross pockets of thick forest and salty savannah, with vast island-dotted lagoons and miles of white-sand beaches providing habitat for all manner of creatures. Known for its mythic surfing hippos, you’ll find the largest concentration of whales and dolphins in Gabon’s waters. The forests are home to a range of fauna and flora. Remains of doomed western explorers are seen in piles of empty oyster shells and graves in the Loango National Park.
