Set amongst the picturesque Aravali hills approximately 40kms north of Jaipur sits the small village of Samode. The main attraction is Samode Palace which was owned by a local nobleman and today is run by his descendants as a spectacularly grand hotel.

A truly awe-inspiring building, the palace dates back from the 19th Century and has been constructed on 3 levels each with its own courtyard. There are some superb walking opportunities around the surrounding countryside and up to the overgrown Samode Fort which is highly worth exploring if only for the fantastic views from the ramparts. A truly unique experience perfect for a few days r&r in between exploring Rajasthanā€™s bustling cities.
