The hill station of Munnar is located in South Indiaā€™s Western Ghats and is the commercial centre of the extensive tea plantations found in the surrounding Nilgiri Hills.

Set at an altitude of 1,524 meters Munnar experiences a refreshing climate which attracted the British back in the days of the Raj when they would head to Munnar to escape the summer heat. The scenery around Munnar is spectacular and offers great walking opportunities ranging from light rambling to extended treks. For tea enthusiasts a visit to the townā€™s Tea Museum comes highly recommended and provides an informative insight into how tea was introduced to the area.
