Korca

Albania - Essential Albania

Korça, situated in the southeastern region of Albania, is a bustling cultural and economic centre with unique neighbourhoods featuring cobblestone streets, low houses, and villas.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the city’s rich history by visiting various museums, including the Education Museum, National Museum of Medieval Art, Prehistoric Museum, and Gjon Mili Photography Museum. Additionally, Korça hosts Albania’s largest carnival celebration, renowned for its traditional music and cuisine, which takes place before Orthodox Easter. The city is an excellent starting point for exploring the nearby mountains and popular tourist destinations such as Voskopoja, Dardha, Vithkuqi, and Boboshtica. Depending on the season, Theatre Cajupi is also a popular venue for concerts and theatre performances.
