Algiers

Algeria - Central Algeria

Nicknamed, Alger La Blanche, these glistening white buildings give the impression of sloping up from the sea, located on the Mediterranean, in the Central region of the country, take time to view a number of surrounding islets turned into part of the port.

The ancient Casbah is a winding urban maze, with streets flowing through the old town like streams. The main building served as the Palace of The Deys until the French conquest.

Magically a road has been cut through the centre, the mosque turned into barracks and the Hall of Sudience left to fall into ruin. Today there are traces of a minaret, and pieces of the vaults where the Dey’s treasures were originally stored.
