Unaffected by the war, Lubango provides access to the beautiful beaches of Namibe. En route, found between the cities of Lubango and Namibe at an elevation of 2,600m above sea level, the Tunda-Vala volcanic fissure, is one of the most spectacular natural sights in Angola.
Commonly reached by thrill-seeking hikers, at this height, the views are spectacular, and these visible vistas are some of the best in Africa. As well as its sheer rock face the Tundavala has patches of savanna, grass and forest landscapes.
