WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

Wildlife abounds at Aguape, a charming lodge overlooking the Ibera Lagoon at the heart of the wetland reserve. The lodge retains a traditional ranch feel with wide shady verandas topped with traditional zinc roofs. The rooms are simple yet comfortable overlooking either the garden or lagoon and each featuring a small, front terrace and hammock. There is spacious lounge centred around a large open fireplace while outside, centrepiece of the gardens, a sparkling pool ringed with sun loungers ideal for cooling off after a long hot day. The traditional, open-sided dining room serves a good mix of regional food including regular “asado” barbeques accompanied by a wide selection of Argentine wine. From Aguape’s private pier, guests head off each day on boat trips into the lagoon accompanied by naturalist guides. Additional activities range from walking, riding and canoeing to biking around the village. Warm and welcoming, the lodge is an excellent mid-range option within the wetlands, ideal for families. Facilities are rustic yet comfortable – a wonderful introduction to Ibera’s rich wildlife!
