WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

Bahia Bustamente is a remote 100,000-acre sheep farm on Argentina’s wild southern Atlantic coast and the most extraordinary haven for marine wildlife – an Argentine version of the Galapagos Islands according to the New York Times. Completely off-grid and unique, its pristine white beaches are home to up to 100,000 Magellan penguins and 4,000 noisy sea lions alongside huge colonies of cormorants and oystercatchers. The lodge itself is rustic yet comfortable; the heart of a tiny community established in a bygone era to harvest seaweed. Today, the original workers cabins have been converted to guest cabins and the lodge offers a range of guided activities, including boat trips to observe the wildlife, 4×4 visits to an ancient petrified forest, and wonderful canyon walks. Bahia Bustamente offers no great comfort but the incredible wildlife and traditional heritage amidst an ancient landscape make this truly special!
