Armenia - Central Armenia and Yerevan

Yerevan emerged as a city around the fortress Erebuni, founded in 782 BC by the Urartian King Argishti the First, and is considered to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, exuding a laid-back charm and appealing Russian edifices.

Yerevan Erebuni was declared the Citadel of the Kingdom, serving as a religious and administrative centre and residence for The King and his family. Today over 1 million people call Yerevan their home. A city with historical and cultural heritage interweave with a stylish downtown. Enjoy a leisurely wander around the city, usually starting from the Opera House, officially called Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Theatre; it is in the heart of the city. Most of the main Yerevan sightseeing places are within walking distance from the Opera House.
