Azerbaijan - Oasis Highlights

There are so many highlights in this fascinating country that it is impossible to list them all here. Our travel consultants will discuss your interests and be able to put a specific itinerary together for you, but below are a few must seeā€™s!

Sheki

Once an essential stop on the legendary Silk Road, Sheki is a charming city in the north-west of Azerbaijan. Head to the historic centre and countries latest UNESCO World Heritage site to soak up the spirit of an old Caucasian trading hub, and enjoy exploring the city’s craft shops and caravanserais, cobblestone streets and colourful sweet shops.

Goygol

Celebrated in Azerbaijani poetry, paintings and songs and set beneath the dramatic rocky peak of Mt Kapaz ringed by thick green forests that turn golden in autumn, Lake Goygol is the country’s most-loved mountain lake. Maral Gol, nearby, is very appealing. The Goygol region offers more than just Lake Goygol and the surrounding national park: here you can still feel the spirit of the German town that once existed here, and enjoy local wines based on original German methods.

Baku

In Baku, you will discover a constantly evolving tapestry of life and energy from bazaar to penthouse. Being a coastal city, Baku is intrinsically open-minded and hospitable. At its heart, the UNESCO-listed İƧəri Şəhər -Old City- lies within an exotically crenellated arc of the fortress wall. Guests are welcome to stroll along the Caspian promenade and enjoy the unique architectural blend of East and West.
