Aanjar

- Bekaa

At the foot of the Eastern Range, near the water source of Litani River, Aanjar being a crossroad that leads to Homs, Tabaraya, Beirut and Damascus gained its riches and opulence from a spring flowing at the foot of the Eastern Range.

The name Aanjar is the modified form of the Ain Jarra, an ancient city which the Arabs founded in the Hellenistic period. In contrast with other ancient sites in Lebanon -Tyre, Sidon, Beirut and Byblos, Aanjar lost its glamour rapidly.
