The Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s most awe-inspiring wilderness reserves, with 15 000 square kilometres of water channels, lagoons and islands.
Each year, floodwaters flow from the central African highlands over 1 000 km away into the Delta to create this unique wetland within a desert. It is home to many wildlife, from common mammals and birdlife to those not seen elsewhere, such as sitatunga, wild dog, and wattled crane. The Okavango Delta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Mokoro (traditional canoes) offers an authentic, unobtrusive insight into the incredible wetland paradise.
