The hotel spans two historic mansions and is located next to the Sao Francisco church, a short stroll from the Praca da Se square which overlooks the gleaming waters of the All Saints Bay. French owned, it has been tastefully decorated and celebrates the history and culture of Bahia from the antique furniture and trading maps to the period dress style uniforms of the staff. The restaurant comes highly recommended and offers a fusion of French and Bahian inspired cuisine. Towards the back of the hotel, there are 2 small patios including a small plunge pool while head to the top of Villa Bahia and you find a charming rooftop terrace – perfect for enjoying the sun set over the city. The Villa Bahia’s location is second to none, the perfect base for exploring Salvador’s cobbled streets and colonial monuments.
