Surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, the Insolito Boutique Hotel oozes style and sophistication throughout offering a heady blend of Mediterranean and Brazilian influences amidst fresh contemporary design. The rooms and suites are ocean facing and individually themed around Brazilian art, history and modern culture. The in-house Yemanja restaurant delivers a French-Brazilian fusion of flavours with excellent local sea-food and beef. For variety, head into the centre of town, where there are a number of excellent bars and restaurants. The hotel is a short walk from a golden strip of sand yet if that proves too much, you can relax around one of two swimming pools, take advantage of the spa, jacuzzi and saunas, head out on a bike or boat trip. Buzios itself boasts around 26 beaches (depending who you speak to!) around a rocky peninsula and why not hire a beach buggy to explore the secluded coves. For thrill seekers, there is good diving, snorkelling and sailing while the town is renowned throughout Brazil for its nightlife – Carnival and New Year is something to behold!
