Location

Cardamom Tented Camp is an ecolodge situated in the Cardamom Mountains, within the boundary of Botum Sakor National Park in Koh Kong Province in a very remote and beautiful riverside location of Cambodia. Located on an 18,000-hectare (180 km2) concession, the lodge and its surroundings are home to pristine lowland and coastal habitats linking wildlife corridors to the Cardamom Mountains. Eco-friendly trekking and kayaking packages are available for adventure enthusiasts who are keen to be a part of real conservation work.

WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

The lodge aims to minimize the human footprint on the natural world and serve as a role model in promoting sustainable ecotourism practices within both the national park and Cambodia as a whole. Each of the nine tents provides visitors with a fully enclosed and mosquito-protected 32.6m² canvas tent. In-tent amenities include Twin, Double or Triple beds; standing fans; bamboo and rattan furniture; bathroom facilities with hot water, rain showers, and locally sourced soaps and shampoos; and spacious patios with sun chairs.

The tented camp features an open-air communal style Riverbank Restaurant with seating for 18 guests on a raised platform, patio and pier area, overlooking the idyllic, slow-moving Preak Tachan River. The Khmer chef offers an assortment of delicious local Khmer and foreign dishes in a Set Menu style. Vegetarian options are also available on request. The menu is based on the availability of local and homegrown produce, and dishes are cooked without any flavour enhancers or additives. A wide range of alcoholic beverages including beers, cocktails and wines, are also on sale at the restaurant bar.

The tents are rustic yet uber luxurious and elegant with safari-style décor using local materials such as hardwood, bamboo, and leather for customized, handcrafted furniture.
