Northwest Ontario

Northwest Ontario, home to several of Canada's best provincial parks, where you'll find abundant ultimate freshwater fishing, backcountry paddling, camping, hiking, wildlife and nature viewing at its very best.  

Two main urban centres serve as gateways to unparalleled outdoor adventures and offer unique local culture and genuine northern hospitality.

In the west, Kenora sits on the edge of Lake of the Woods. This legendary interconnected lake system is in the area known as Sunset Country. Southeast, the city of Thunder Bay is nestled on Lake Superior's north shore, under the shadow of the fabled Sleeping Giant, part of Superior Country.  

From here,  experience breathtaking views of Lake Superior and the surrounding area from the Top of the Giant Trail and Thunder Bay Lookout. 

With over one hundred kilometres of incredible hiking trails to experience, there are many spectacular geological features such as the 'Sea Lion' and Tee Harbour,  and of course, a chance to see our excellent wildlife viewing in the park's boreal forest: deer, wolf, fox, lynx and over 200 bird species.
