Cruise the Kaweskar route through towering fjords, huge glaciers and wonderful wildlife as you explore Chile’s great Southern Patagonian Ice Field aboard the MV Skorpios III.

The M/N Skorpios III is a recent addition to the fleet, constructed in 1995 and which offers breathtaking cruises though the Patagonian fjords north of Puerto Natales at the far tip of Chile to reach the great southern icefield. The ship carries a maximum of 90 passengers and features elegant communal spaces throughout. Large picture windows breathe light and warmth onto the traditional, wood beamed lounge/restaurant while guests are given free roam of the ship including access to the engine room, bridge and galley. There are 45 snug, en suite cabins with LCD TVā€™s spread across 5 decks. All are warmly furnished with picture windows bar those on the lower Atenas Deck.

Departing from Puerto Natales, the Skorpios III offers 4 night cruises to explore the wonderful wildlife and scenery of Chile’s southern icefield following the iconic Kaweskar route. Guests will have the chance to take smaller launches to navigate through picturesque icefloes to reach a number of the region’s glaciers such as Guilliard, Amalia, El Brujo (the Warlock), Calvo, Bernal, and Herman.

The latest itinerary is as follows:-

Day 1:
Afternoon departure from Puerto Natales to navigate the Patagonian channels of Kirke Narrowness, Morla VicuƱa, Union, Collinwood and Sarmiento.

Day 2:
Cruise Pitt Channel and Chatam Island to to visit the Guillard and Amalia Glaciers.

Day 3:
Visit the El Brujo Glacier and the spectacular Calvo Fjord before you navigate the icefloes of Fjord Calvo to visit the Fernando, Captain Constantino and Alipio glaciers.

Day 4:
Cruise the ice alley of the Montanas Fjord where five glaciers tumble down the Sarmiento Mountains into the sea. Visit the Alsina Glacier and then disembarking the vessel, hike to the base of the Bernal Glacier before re-embarking to navigate through the multi-coloured icebergs of the Herman and Zamudio Glaciers (tide permitting). The cruise culminates with the Angostura Chanel as you return to Puerto Natales for a farewell dinner.

Day 5:
Disembark the boat after breakfast.
