Wuyishan (aka Mount Wuyi) is well known for its natural beauty, landscape and long history. The city is located in the north-western part of Fujian Province with a population of around 210,000, with 5 townships, 5 villages and 6 tea farms. In the vicinity of the city, is the Wuyi Mountain, the most popular tourist destination in Fujian. It was granted UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, both natural and cultural in 1999. Mount Wuyi is famous for its natural conservation of a large number of ancient plant species, wild animals and reptiles, many of which are endemic to China. The area is also famous for its superb tea.
