WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

Beautifully restored, Hacienda San Jose retains its historic character throughout. Antique furniture melds with polished wooden floors and charming family heirlooms while graceful balconies are cloaked in bougainvillea and topical flowers. Downstairs, tables spill onto an open verandah that runs the length of the house, an ideal spot for enjoying afternoon tea. There are 11 formal guestrooms and suites all awash with classic furniture and fittings from the carved wooden headboards to the antique rugs and wardrobes. Each room is unique; some feature balconies overlooking the pool while others spacious bathrooms with antique tubs yet all exude the same air of period elegance. Upstairs, the sumptuous formal dining room harks back to a by-gone era while the main restaurant delivers delicious cuisine, a blend of Colombian and European flavours. Hacienda San Jose is ringed with colourful villages and national parks and is an ideal base for exploring Colombia’s Coffee Triangle. Riding and bird-watching can be organised or guests can simply relax around the handsome pool. Hacienda San Jose is among our favourite hotels in the area.
