WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

Dating back to the 18th century, La Plazuela is a charming hotel that offers a rich slice of colonial history at the heart of Popayan. Behind the traditional white-washed stucco facade, graceful arches wrap around two leafy internal courtyards and lead off to the rooms and communal areas, all brimming with period heirlooms and local artwork. The rooms are simple yet perfectly comfortable, several with private balconies overlooking the surrounding streets. Admittedly, the heavy antique feel may not be to everyone’s taste but it is excellent value for money in a prime position in Popayan.
