WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL
Mawamba Lodge is a comfortable rainforest retreat that takes pride of place in Tortuguero situated between the town and the channels, with direct access to the beach. The surrounding gardens and jungle teem with wildlife including some 180 species of birds and you needn’t venture far from you room to spot a huge variery of flora and fauna. All meals and a number of excursions – from boat trips and guided walks to town visits – are included during your stay and travel between July and October and you can even experience the natural phenomenon of nesting season of loggerhead, leatherback, hawksbill and Olive ridley turtles which all make their way onto the dark sands to lay their eggs.
