The Punta Islita is among our favourite beach destinations in Costa Rica with excellent service and facilities to suit couples, honeymoons and families. From the lofty thatched restaurant and bar at the heart of the complex, the resort tumbles down through tropical gardens to reach the dark sands of a sweeping beach, some 15 minutes walk away. Fortunately, the resort’s beach club sits right on the sand and provides an additional pool, bar and restaurant as well as a welcome shuttle transfer back up to your room. Punta Islita offers a good mix of relaxation and excursions. For adventure, you can go hiking, surfing, fishing and zip-lining through the forest while back at the resort you can enjoy a relaxing massage at the spa or simply sink into the delightful infinity pool. Best of all, the local community is at the heart of the resort and you can visit the colourful local village and school.
