The Sea Spirit is among the most comfortable options in Antarctica, a 298 ft. ice-strengthened expeditionary ship built in Italy yet designed for the colder, ice-choked channels of the south. Fast and smooth owing to the in-built stabilisers (a godsend when crossing the Drake Passage!), the Sea Spirit exudes style and sophistication. Inside, polished wood matched with brass fittings and thick carpets adorn the lounge, library/games room and elegant dining room. Out on deck, there is plenty of space for spotting birds and whales or simply watching the magnificent icebergs drift by. The Sea Spirit caters to a maximum of 114 passengers in 53 spacious, junior suite-style cabins. All feature private en-suite facilities with either portholes or picture windows and combine classic, period elegance with mod-cons such as Flat Screen TVs and DVD players. Best of all, the Deluxe -, Premium – and Owner’s Suite boast small private balconies, perfect for drinking in the wonderful, outside world. The additional comfort, however, does not take away from the expedition feel of each voyage.

The Sea Spirit offers a range of 10 to 19 day cruises and includes activities such as camping, kayaking and cross-country skiing on certain departures. Zodiac trips and landings are guided by highly experienced staff while on the ship guests enjoy evening lectures or can take advantage of the small gym and hot tub.
