Frederiksborg Castle

Frederiksborg Castle was built in the early decades of the 17th century by King Christian IV.

It is the largest Renaissance castle in Scandinavia and incorporates the best of Renaissance architecture and craftsmanship. Throughout the 17th century, Frederiksborg Castle was often used as a royal residence, for instance, by Frederik VII in the 1850s.
