The height of luxury and style on the mighty Napo River, the 148 foot MV Anakonda Riverboat was constructed in 2013 and offers 4, 5 and 8 day cruises through the steamy rainforest skirting the Yasuni National Park and Cuyabeno National Reserve.
Modern and contemporary in design, the MV Anakonda is spread over 3 elegant, wooden decks linked by a sweeping, central staircase. Floor to ceiling windows breathe life and space throughout and generous communal areas include a cosy lounge, an outdoor bar terrace, an observation deck and a solarium with a jacuzzi.
There are 18 spacious, air-conditioned cabins, all with wonderful panoramic views over the water. The decor is simple yet stylish with a clean contemporary finish.
The food is excellent, a mouth-watering fusion of national and international cuisine with traditional favourites such as Quinoa Risotto and Encocado (served in a coconut source) on the menu. The Anakonda carries three motor launches and each day, guests head out on guided walks, boat-trips and visits to indigenous communities accompanied by both local and expert naturalist guides. In addition, “glamping” has recently been introduced giving the guests the unique opportunity to camp on raised wooden platforms in the heart of the rainforest.
The MV Anakonda offers a wonderful cruise experience in the remote Amazon wilderness. Wildlife observation improves the further you travel upriver and the longer 5 and 8 day itineraries are recommended. The cruises on offer are as follows:-
