Arctic Skylight Lodge, opening in February 2020, is tucked away in a pictoresque river valley, just a few kilometers outside of Äkäslompolo, a village surrounded by seven fells on the north side of Ylläs. The main building on top of the hill houses our welcoming reception, cozy lounge with a fireplace and the glass walled restaurant connecting the inside with the ancient forest and wild nature outside.

WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL
Spread out over the hill rolling down to Kukaslompolo are the 10 luxurious glass cabins, offering cinematic views of the river valley and the surrounding nature. At the bottom of the valley, at the end of the sloping path, between a swamp and the river, lays the sauna building with an outdoor jacuzzi. At the lodge they combine modern architecture, wood and glass, with the rough and wild Lappish nature, cool and sleek design with luxurious and cozy furnishings. Value the unspoilt and pure nature of Lapland, and this particular area especially. Their goal is to preserve the ancient forest, the swamp and the surrounding area as much as possible, keep nature intact for birds, reindeer and all other wildlife on our piece of land, and be as sustainable as possible without compromising on comfort and luxury.
