M/Y Galapagos Sea Star

Galapagos Islands - Galapagos Cruises

The Galapagos Sea Star is a deluxe 140ft mono-hull motor cruiser and the latest incarnation of the Grand Odyssey launched at the beginning of 2011.

Although completely revamped, the vessel has kept the same ratio of surface area to passenger numbers and offers that rare mix of comfort, space and technology within a small vessel atmosphere. Inside, the once heavy upholstery and fittings have been replaced by fresh, breezy tones and a chic, modern open-plan layout that brings the views and light into every corner of the vessel. The 7 en-suite cabins remain among the largest of any Galapagos cruisers (25 and 35m respectively) and each boast panoramic windows, air conditioning with independent controls, minibar and TV. Several can also be inter-connected for families or small groups.

Guest amenities include a large solarium with shaded and uncovered areas, two Jacuzzis and comfortable sun loungers ā€“ the perfect spot to enjoy a sun-downer as the islands drift past. Inside, social areas reveal a saloon, mini-library and video library as well as a play zone for children (during family departures).

The Sea Star offers a range of 4 ā€“ 14 night itineraries to explore the breathtaking Galapagos with daily excursions led by the on-board naturalist guides. There are regular opportunities to swim, snorkel and take advantage of the resident kayaks.

The MY Sea Star certainly doesnā€™t scrimp on space and is among our favourite deluxe motor cruisers in the Galapagos, stable yet small and robust enough to maintain that intimate expedition vessel feel.
