Fur seals and sea-lions bask in the sun on the iconic red sandy beach of Rabida, a tiny island just off Santiago while the crystal clear waters of the bay offer excellent snorkelling.
From the beach, a trail, leads through scrub to reach a brackish, mangrove lagoon that harbours flamingos. The path continues through Palo Santo trees to reach a cliff top viewpoint that abounds with Brown Pelicans, Blue-footed and Nazca Boobies among other sea-birds.
