Jaisalmer

There is something magical about the desert city of Jaisalmer, a truly breathtaking city dominated by its spectacular sandcastle like fort. Also known as the Golden City, Jaisalmer was originally a staging post on the trading routes west and as such is protected by walls and turrets.

The best way to explore the city is to get lost in the maze of streets and walk around the walls. Take a few minutes to look out on the shimmering expanse of desert and appreciate the sheer isolation of the location. Jaisalmer is also the ideal location from which to embark on a camel safari through the desert, this can easily be incorporated into any of our itineraries for half a day or longer for those interested in a full or (for the really adventurous) multi day trek.
