There are so many highlights in this fascinating country that it is impossible to list them all here. Our travel consultants will discuss your interests and be able to put a specific itinerary together for you, but below are a few must see’s!
Genoa
Nestled between the Ligurian mountains and the azure blue sea, Genoa is a captivating, one-of-a-kind European city. Surprisingly, it boasts Europe’s most significant historic centre, making it a must-see destination. Getting lost among its maze of alleyways is enchanting, but be prepared for a workout with its hills. The city also features monumental streets constructed by noble families of the past, a bustling kilometre-long promenade, and unforgettable cuisine.
Milan
Milan is a metropolis that strikes a perfect balance between history and modernity. It is renowned for being a global fashion and design hub and a financial centre. However, Milan is also a city of culture and intellect. Despite its focus on the future, this capital of Lombardy takes pride in preserving its rich history, with extraordinary museums and some of Italy’s most magnificent churches.
Venice
For many, the most beautiful city in the world. Venice has an eternal and poignant charm and is today among the world capitals of contemporary art. Timeless and magical, Venice’s soul is composed of 118 islands united by more than 400 bridges, separated by canals that act as waterways, forever bustling with gondolas and boats in a never-ending back-and-forth. Saying that it is brimming with art treasures is even disrespectful: romantic charm and history are unique.
Siena
Siena is a beautiful town in the heart of Tuscany that has successfully preserved its medieval historical centre. Piazza del Campo, in particular, exudes a nostalgic ambience that transports one back in time. This is where Palazzo Pubblico and Torre del Mangia stand facing each other. Every year, from 2 July to 16 August, the traditional Palio, an equestrian competition between the city’s neighbourhoods, is held.
