Arrival in Baku – Welcome to the Land of Fire
Arrive in Baku, where you’ll be greeted by your private driver and transferred to your elegant boutique hotel in the heart of the Old City (Icherisheher). After some time to freshen up, enjoy a relaxed evening walk through the atmospheric medieval streets.
Day 2
Baku Historical Highlights & Flame Towers
Today is dedicated to uncovering the cultural riches of Baku. Begin with a guided exploration of the UNESCO-listed Old City, visiting the Shirvanshah’s Palace, Maiden Tower, and caravanserais. In the afternoon, your driver takes you to the futuristic Heydar Aliyev Center, an architectural marvel by Zaha Hadid. As dusk settles, head up to the Flame Towers and Martyrs’ Lane for sweeping views over Baku’s shimmering skyline.
Day 3
Gobustan & Fire Worshippers – Ancient Echoes
Depart for Gobustan National Park, just 60km from Baku, where you’ll witness millennia-old petroglyphs etched into stone and bubbling mud volcanoes dotting the semi-desert landscape. Later, visit the Ateshgah Fire Temple and Yanar Dag (“Burning Mountain”), where flames blaze eternally from the earth—testament to Azerbaijan’s fire-worshipping past. Return to Baku in the evening.

Baku to Lahij via Shamakhi – Into the Caucasus Mountains
Leave Baku behind and ascend into the lush foothills of the Greater Caucasus. Stop in Shamakhi, once the capital of the Shirvan Empire, to see the historic Juma Mosque and Diri Baba Mausoleum. Continue to Lahij, a picturesque Persian-style village famous for its cobbled streets, copper workshops, and scenic valley views. Stay overnight in a charming stone guesthouse with traditional furnishings.

Lahij to Sheki via Ismayilli – Wine & Craft
Drive toward Sheki, a stunning Silk Road town nestled in the mountains. On the way, visit a boutique vineyard in Ismayilli for a private wine tasting and lunch surrounded by nature. Arrive in Sheki in the afternoon and settle into a restored caravanserai hotel or elegant heritage inn.
Day 6
Sheki – Palaces and Pastries
A full day to immerse in Sheki’s charm. Begin with a tour of the ornate Khan’s Palace, a masterpiece of stained glass and frescoes. Stroll the colourful bazaar, visit the Church of Kish (one of the Caucasus’ oldest), and taste local halva pastries. The day ends with a relaxed evening in town, where your guide may introduce you to live mugham music under the stars.
Day 7
Return to Baku via Qabala – Forested Beauty and Ancient Ruins
After breakfast, begin the scenic return to Baku, stopping en route in Qabala, Azerbaijan’s ancient capital. Visit the ruins of old Qabala and enjoy lunch in a forested riverside resort. Arrive in Baku by late afternoon for a final night in the city. Consider a sunset boat ride on the Caspian or a farewell dinner in a fine-dining fusion restaurant.
