TRain to Bratislava
Day 1
Welcome to Slovakia
Today, you’ll arrive at Bratislava Train Station, where your private driver will greet you with a warm Slovak welcome and escort you to your hotel. Once you’re settled and have had time to refresh, meet your guide, who will take you on a tour of the city’s historically significant sites, including the imposing Bratislava Castle, Michael’s Gate, the ‘Man at Work’ statue, and the Baroque Primate’s Palace.
Day 2
Trnava and the Small Carpathians
After a traditional Slovak breakfast, meet your driver and guide for a trip to one of Slovakia’s oldest towns, Trnava. Here you will explore St. Nicholas Basilica and the charming town square. After lunch, head into the Small Carpathians for a tour and tasting at one of Slovakia’s best wineries.
Day 3
The Fairytale Town of Rájec-Jestřebí and Trenčín
This morning, meet your driver and guide and journey to the town of Rájec-Jestřebí, where you will explore the park and Rájec Castle. Then continue to Trenčín, visit the imposing Trenčín Castle and admire its panoramic views from the hilltop.
Day 4
The Tatra Mountains: High Tatra National Park
Today will be a little more active, as we travel to the High Tatras Mountains. This mesmerising region is known for its picturesque views, as well as its diverse flora and fauna. Take a guided hike through the High Tatra National Park to Lake Popradské pleso, exploring this rich natural wonder. Have a picnic lunch before heading to your lodge for the evening.
Day 5
Štrbské Pleso and Tatranská Lomnica
This morning, continue your journey through the Tatra Mountains and visit Lake Štrbské Pleso. Take the cable car to the top for spectacular mountain views. If you are here in winter, we can arrange a day of skiing.
Day 6
Košice: Culture and Heritage
Today you’ll travel southeast to Slovakia’s second-largest city, Košice. With your guide, explore the historical centre and visit St. Elisabeth Cathedral, the largest church in Slovakia. Stroll Hlavná ulica and explore the museums, galleries and shops along this mainly pedestrian street in the city.
Day 7
Discovering Prešov
After breakfast, you’ll take the short journey to Prešov, where you’ll visit the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas and stroll around the main square.
Day 8
Banská Štiavnica
Today explore the UNESCO World Heritage site town of Banská Štiavnica, famous for its mining history. Visit the stunning Old Town Square, featuring impressive Baroque buildings. You’ll learn about the region’s mining heritage.
Day 9
Bojnice
Journey to Bojnice, where you can explore the fairytale-like Bojnice Castle and its beautiful grounds. this afternoon you’ll head back to Bratislava.
