This itinerary is perfect for the first-time visitor to Namibia, incorporating the north of the country’s highlights and one or two off-beat Oasis ideas. Travel to Etosha, which means ‘huge white area’ or ‘place of dry water’; the National Park certainly lives up to this description. It’s a vast shallow pan that shines brightly in the African sun due to crystallized salt on the ground’s surface. Explore Swakopmund, from sandboarding to quad biking, fishing to beach angling and diving to hot air ballooning. Finally, witness the vistas of the Naukluft mountain range and visit Sossusvlei and the amazing sand dunes.
