Arrive Panama City
Day 2-3
Panama city
A city of contrasts, the buzzing high-rise of the new city and the quaint cobblestone streets of the Casco Viejo are in complete juxtaposition. During your time in Panama City, discover the city and surrounds during the sunset tour in Casco Viejo where your guide will show you around the historic neighbourhood, take a partial transit across the impressive Panama Canal, one of the greatest engineering feats of all time, and spend time with the local indigenous Embera community learning about their ways of life.
Day 4-5
Stay at the canopy tower
Leave the city behind you as you head for your overnight accommodation at the Canopy Tower in the Soberania national park. A haven for wildlife and birdlife, Soberania national park allows you to experience the flora and fauna of Panama without travelling too far from the city itself.
Day 6
El valle de Anton
Leave the Canopy Tower and travel to El Valle de Anton, a few hours from Panama City. One of Panama’s most extraordinary towns, El Valle is located inside the crater of an extinct volcano. The area is rich in biodiversity with grassy hills, cloudforests, waterfalls and wildlife like sloths, agoutis, toucans and hummingbirds. In the evening, take a sunset walk to enjoy the beautiful views, followed by dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 7
El Valle de Anton
Explore the area of El Valle as you trek to La India Dormida, a centuries old impressive mountain. The views of El Valle and the Pacific Ocean are stunning and the downhill journey passes several beautiful waterfalls and ends at the Petroglyphs.
