Fly to Zagreb
Day 2
Explore Zagreb
The Zagreb tour begins with a quintessential Zagreb experience – enjoying a gourmet cup of coffee at the oldest coffee shop in Zagreb, while overlooking the main square and the statue of Ban Jelacic. This morning coffee ritual is followed by a guided tour through the historic streets, picturesque historical sites, hidden alleys and lanes of Upper Zagreb. An expert guide will share captivating stories from Zagreb’s history, including famous scary legends about Zagreb witches and an evil queen. They will also show you the most important and beautiful places of Upper Zagreb.
Coffee drinking is an essential social ritual in Croatia, where it is enjoyed by locals to mingle, meet new people, discuss business, or simply to spend quality time with loved ones. When in Croatia, one must drink coffee!
Upper Town is the historic heart of Zagreb, with narrow cobblestone streets that guide visitors through Croatian history from medieval times to the glorious Austrian empire era. Some of the most prominent sights in Upper Town include the Lotršćak tower, St. Catherine’s baroque church, the relaxing Strossmayer promenade with its view of Lower town, and the famous Saint Mark’s Church, known for its roof representing the coat of arms of the Tripartite Kingdom (Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia). On the Kaptol hill is the impressive Zagreb cathedral, an important part of Zagreb’s cultural heritage and a remarkable Gothic building.
After the Zagreb sightseeing tour, visitors are taken to the Zagorje region in the northern part of the country. The Hrvatsko zagorje region of Croatia is known for its lovely green hills, numerous castles, thermal springs, and delicious, comforting home-made food. During the tour, visitors will get a chance to visit a local winery for dinner, paired with one of the best local wines of the area. This region is believed to have a long-standing tradition of wine production, with origins dating back to the age of the Roman Empire and the ancient 2nd century Roman culture.
Day 3
Plitvice Lakes and Rovinj
Located halfway between Split and Zagreb, the National Park Plitvice Lake is the most exciting place in the Croatian hinterland and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors from all over think that its 16 lakes that are interconnected with approximately 90 spectacular waterfalls and framed by lush greenery, might be the most beautiful place in the world, and we couldn’t agree more.
Plitvice offers a delightful walk along 18 km of beautiful wooden footbridges and pathways, which allows visitors to walk along the crystalline lakes and beside magical waterfalls. This detoxes from any kind of restlessness or stress. The tranquility of the perfectly turquoise water, misty waterfalls, and bountiful shades of green are Mother Nature’s finest wellness treatment. Locals believe that wishes made under the biggest Plitvice waterfall always come true. It’s worth a try, we think.
The National Park is not just about beautiful cascading lakes. It occupies an area of 30,000 hectares, covered by beech, fir, and spruce forests. Deers, bears, wolves, boars, and numerous rare bird species live in this well-preserved piece of biodiversity heaven.
After a sightseeing tour and some free time, we will make our way to Rovinj, located in the Istrian region, also known as the Croatian Tuscany.
Day 4
Porec
Today, you will be exploring Poreč with our local guide. The town has a rich history that dates back to Roman times. The old part of the town still has a typical Roman street layout, which is mostly symmetrical with two primary intersecting streets. The town’s Episcopal Complex of the Basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its oldest parts date back to the 4th century. Although the basilica itself is from the 6th century. The old town is dominated by Venetian-style houses, making it a perfect place for summer tourism and large crowds of people. Learn more about this fascinating historic town on our walking tour.
After the sightseeing tour, you will enjoy an olive oil tasting with local olive oil producers. Did you know that Istria produces some of the top three extra virgin olive oils in the world? The highlight of the day will be an exclusive truffle lunch in Motovun, a city-monument, an ancient Istrian Acropolis city situated on the top of a 277-meter-high hill.
Day 5
Explore Pula
Today proceed to Pula sightseeing. Take a walking tour of its magnificent Roman monuments, which include the immense Amphitheatre with its grand stone arches, Arch of the Sergii and the Temple of Augustus, one of the finest Roman temples outside Italy. We can say that Pula, the city itself is the best museum you can discover, for most the city views are more rewarding than the views in museums.
After sightseeing tour you will enjoy lunch with wine pairing in a local boutique winery. The area is famous for its fresh white wines called Malvazija which you will get the chance to taste paired with best local cheeses and meets.
Day 6
Rovinj and Sibenik
After breakfast departure to Šibenik, a gem in the Croatian Adriatic, situated along the mouth of Krka on the most picturesque part of the eastern Adriatic coast. The rich cultural and historical heritage of the city is visible in the impressive Cathedral of sv. Jakov built by the famous architect Juraj Dalmatinac and is under UNESCO protection. Numerous churches, monasteries, palaces and four fortresses ‘frame’ the city, and also testify to the perseverance, renunciation and faith of generations of people of Šibenik.
After the walking tour enjoy lunch in a local Michelin star restaurant. After lunch and some free time we will make our way to Split.
Day 7
TROGIR AND SPLIT
After breakfast departure to Trogir, a very colorful city with a historic past and city under UNESCO protection. Trogir is a “city-museum” in every sense of the word. More than 2300 years in existence, the city provides lovers of cultural and historical monuments, art, original architecture and cozy alleyway streets and unforgettable setting. Trogir is sometimes called a city museum because of its rich heritage. After tour of Trogir and some free time, travel back in time on our walking tour of Split and discover the largest city of the Dalmatia region with a local guide. During our Split tour we will walk around the walls and throughout the narrow streets of Diocletian’s palace and the old town of Split.
After sightseeing, visit local family-owned winery in Kastela famous for producing wines called Crljenak, which is actually known to be the father of Zinfandel.
Day 8
PRIVATE ISLAND HOPPING TO HVAR
Today you will embark on a private yacht and cruise to Hvar and join our half-day wine tour, which will take you on a journey through centuries of vineyards of Hvar, with your expert local guide bringing the wines to life and unraveling Hvar wine story. We will start our journey in Hvar and start with a drive through the island inland. We will pass through old villages Brusje and Velo Grablje and through many Lavender Fields. Continuing this stress-free sightseeing, we come towards di Ager (Hora) – protected field, one of Greek culture masterpieces which remained almost intact during a period of 2400 years. The best part begins in Jelsa, where one specially chosen winery is waiting for you. We are taking you back to the roots, to pure living tradition – Duboković winery. Awarded red wines, cult Croatian wine Medvid, Before 6009 years, 2718 hours of sun in a bottle, cheese, bread – all that in an intimate candle lit cellar of winemakers family house – pure heaven or to say wine heaven. After wine tasting, we’ll head to an old, abandoned village Malo Grablje for a fabulous traditional 3 course lunch.
Afterwards, you will visit museum of Hvar lace production. In the minds of most people, lace is made with a material like linen, silk or cotton. Perhaps, for the more luxurious, silver or gold is used. But on the island of Hvar, the nuns at the Benedictine Convent have been using the agave plant for their lace for more than a hundred years.
Day 9
Split and Korcula
After breakfast embark on a private boat and start cruising to Korčula. The island itself is rich in art and culture, as well as beautiful nature such as numerous tiny and secluded beaches and bays, small and uninhabited islands and breathtaking views. The main town on the island is also named Korčula. Korčula Town is a typical medieval walled Dalmatian city, with its round defensive towers and cluster of red-roofed houses. Explore famous Old City of Korčula with our local guide. During the tour, visit local jeweler producing local authentic jewelry from the Roman times. Learn all about it, and possibly get yourself a piece as an amazing souvenir.
After the tour, free time and cruise to Dubrovnik. On the way get the chance to swim in some of the nicest bays on the Adriatic before reaching Dubrovnik.
Day 10-11
Explore Dubrovnik
Explore the wonders of Dubrovnik’s Old City Centre, a UNESCO heritage site and one of the most important living historical monuments in this part of Europe. Your expert guide will take you around this magical medieval town full of legends and give you a glimpse of the incredible history that makes Dubrovnik such a unique city. Explore Dubrovnik City Walls and enjoy a unique view of the Old Town of Dubrovnik including its narrow streets and small squares. The whole city is live with tourists and locals who wonder around centuries old streets and gaze on old architecture. If you spend a whole year strolling around magnificent old city, it wouldn’t be enough because Dubrovnik offers attractions that you can visit whole your life and never get enough of it.
After sightseeing tour, you will enjoy traditional dinner in Konavle region.
