Day 2-4
Panama city
Take the Panama Canal Railway trip from Panama City across to Colon, running alongside the canal and with some fabulous rainforest views. Visit the Gatun Lake to look for wildlife. Spend time with the Embera community to learn about this indigenous group and their customs. Embark on an extraordinary adventure that combines the scientific marvels of the Smithsonian Tropical research institute with the fascinating quest to find sloths on Naos island – an immersive journey into the heart of tropical research and wildlife conservation in Panama. Day 5-7
El Valle de Anton
Spend time exploring El Valle de Anton. One of Panama’s most extraordinary towns, El Valle is located inside the crater of an extinct volcano. The area is rich in biodiversity with grassy hills, cloudforests, waterfalls and wildlife like sloths, agoutis, toucans and hummingbirds. In the evening, take a sunset walk to enjoy the beautiful views, followed by dinner in a local restaurant. During your time here enjoy La India Dormida hike and a wildlife tour.
Day 8-10
Boquete
Fly from Panama City to David and transfer to Boquete in the Chiriqui highlands. Enjoy the impressive 800 year old Quercus trees and learn all about the coffee process from bean to cup, as well as enjoying an exhilarating white water rafting trip.
Day 11-14
Bocas del Toro
Travel to Bocas del Toro Archipelago and enjoy the stunning turquoise water. Take an excursion to a bay that dolphins love, go snorkelling at Cayo Coral and relax on Cayo Zapatilla. Visit a chocolate farm and see the cacao plantation and learn about the various stages of production to turn it into chocolate. Stay at the stunning Nayara Bocas del Toro in an over water pool villa.
