After almost a century of neglect this unique mansion, built by a famous Chinese merchant - Cheong Fatt Tze, also known as China’s last mandarin and first capitalist, has been lovingly restored to its former glory. The renovation was so successful it was the winner of the UNESCO Conservation Award 2000. The property has been the location for several films including "Indochine".
