Oujda is a border town, located in the extreme northeast of the country, on the border of the eastern Rif region.
The Medina of Oujda with its hidden Arab-Muslim hamlet reaches an area of twenty-five hectares, sheltering several monuments of undeniable historical value, and surrounded by a belt of gardens planted with olive trees. Adobe walls enclose each garden, pierced with numerous holes originally used for defensive purposes.
