The Great Prespa Lake and Small Prespa Lake are in an international region shared by Albania, Greece, and North Macedonia. Most of the Great Prespa Lake is in North Macedonia’s Resen Municipality.
Galičica National Park binds to the west, Pelister National Park to the east, and the borders with Albania and Greece to the south. The northern parts of Resen Municipality are also included in this region. Prespa is a popular domestic vacation spot for Macedonians and receives many foreign tourists due to its beautiful beaches. The area is surrounded by two national parks showcasing spectacular mountainous terrain, making it a significant recreation and wildlife-viewing destination. The region also boasts some of Macedonia’s most charming villages, with traditional village architecture complementing the natural beauty of the surroundings.
