Norway is known for its unique and contrasting scenery. Its natural beauty is dominated by notably jagged mountains and deep fjords carved out and shaped by an ancient Ice Age.

Mountains extend down the spine of the country, and fjords pierce the landmasses to the west and south – these are two of Norway’s most dominant features. The country’s capital, Oslo, is the fastest growing in Europe, with an exciting food scene, music and culture.

It is also home to Bergen with its World Heritage-listed wharf, Bryggen, Trondheim, Stavanger, Tromsø and Kristiansand.

Northern Norway is among the best places to see the incredible Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), a common natural phenomenon with unbelievable colours flashing across the Arctic sky. This is one of the world’s most stunning visual experiences.
