Hardangerfjord

Norway - Fjord Norway

The Hardangerfjord region in Fjord, Norway, is truly a remarkable destination. Let the refreshing mist of the waterfalls cool your face while you relish in the exquisite flavours of the world-renowned cider.

The region boasts magnificent fjords, towering mountains, and breathtaking glaciers. The area also has countless waterfalls, orchards with hundreds of thousands of fruit trees, and vibrant villages. The Hardangerfjord is the world’s third-longest fjord and is home to some of Norway’s most unique nature experiences, cultural landmarks, and famous icons. The region encompasses the municipalities of Kvam, Eidfjord, Kvinnherad, Ullensvang, and Ulvik. The Trolltunga rock formation, located at the western edge of the Hardangervidda plateau, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular sights in Norway. This rock juts out 700 meters above the Ringedalsvatnet Lake, offering breathtaking views. The hike to Trolltunga is long and challenging, but the stunning scenery makes it worthwhile. The trail to Trolltunga is signposted, and the round-trip hike from the main trailhead at P2 in Skjeggedal is 28 km, with an ascent of almost 800 meters. It is estimated to take 8-12 hours to complete the hike.
