WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

The concept at Holmen Lodge started with offering high quality husky tours in the Alta area and has developed into a small resort with unique accommodation, sociable dining and relaxing spa area to provide an inclusive package for guests. The emphasis here has always been its Huskies, looking after the many Alaskan Husky dogs and providing good quality dog-sledding options. The kennels are on site, so for dog lovers this is a dream experience. There are two options of accommodation at the lodge. The glamping lavvos are an interpretation of the tents that the Sami people used, but with a comfortable soft bed, wood burner to keep you warm and snug and large windows to enjoy the surrounding nature and northern lights. The lavvos don’t have bathroom facilities, the toilets and showers are located in the main building only a few meters away. There is also the Arctic Dome, with a private bathroom, sauna, wood burner and skylight to capture the skies above.
