WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL
The first of its kind in the Colca Canyon, Puqio is the height of rustic charm, a unique tented camp that harks back to the days of the first Andean explorers. Sensitively constructed with warm natural materials, Puqio offers a mix of terracotta tiled adobe cottages and stylish canvas tents that blend seamlessly into the surrounding high desert landscape. Although not technically overly luxurious, each spacious tent benefits from features such as private terraces, wood-burning stoves and indoor/outdoor shower all softened with regional textiles, sheep-wool rugs and stylish wooden furniture. Puqio is rightly proud of its cuisine, a farm-to-table dining style Andean approach that honours traditional cooking methods that makes best use of the fresh seasonal produce available. All meals and guided activities are included during your stay and rather than simply a base from which to explore the Colca Canyon, Puqio focuses on creating authentic experiences which are cantered on the landscapes and rich regional heritage of the Colca.
