Penha Longa Resort is a stunning location sprawled over 545 acres of a National Park on the southern Sintra Mountains. It includes an opulent hotel, a nineteenth-century palace originally founded as a monastery in the fourteenth century, 8 exceptional restaurants, 27 spectacular golf holes that are dotted around the forest and a stunning spa. In the past, it used to serve as a retreat for the Royal Family of Portugal. The resort’s luxury accommodations are designed in an earth-inspired palette and are complemented by the greenery of Portugal’s Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. The well-regarded Japanese restaurant Midori and the intimate dining experience at Lab by Sergi Arola, a chef who cut his teeth at the famous El Bulli restaurant in Spain, are the foodie highlights of the resort.
