There are so many highlights in this fascinating country that it is impossible to list them all here. Our travel consultants will discuss your interests and be able to put a specific itinerary together for you, but below are a few must seeās!
GRANDE ANSE
The Grande beach is located in the region of Petite-Ćle. Plage de Grande Anse boasts splendid sunsets, excellent surfing conditions, and a lava pool–plus a few convenient amenities. Stretching along seven hundred metres of the pale sands the beach borders a bay on the island’s southern side, backed by shady palm groves. Stick to the sheltered natural pool for swimming, or head out to the waves with your surfboard. A snack bar, two truck bars, restrooms, showers, and onsite parking make for a comfortable visit. If your here at the end of the day, linger a while to watch the sun go down
SAINT PIERRE
Saint-Pierre beach launches itself into a lagoon protected from the Atlantic Ocean’s turbulence. It may not have the reputation of the Ermitage lagoon; it’s still a fabulous place to sit and watch the waves or take to the water and is an excellent spot for snorkelling. After two minutes, you will be swimming among schools of fish and invertebrates in a spectacular coral setting.
PITON DE LA FOURNAISE
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Piton de la Fournaise is the island’s most famous natural wonder. Dubbed āle volcanā or The Volcano by locals. Piton de la Fournaise is not a sleeping giant, rather an active geological wonder that erupts with great consistency. This is one of the world’s most accessible active volcanoes, and it’s possible to hike to the crater’s rim. For the less adventurous scenic flights can be taken over the volcano or enjoy the views from the craterās outer rim right where the road stops.
