On the 11th of February in 1388, a document was recorded during Peter I’s reign. Alexander the Good intervened to strengthen the city’s defensive system by fortifying a bulwark on the south side of the fort’s first entry.
Stefan Cel Mare came into power in Moldova between 1457 and 1504. He was a brilliant leader, diplomat, and military strategist, qualities that were recognised by his contemporaries. When attempting to enter the fortress, we will encounter four defensive items: a moat, an access bridge, an external security wall, and a trap known as the “mousetrap” by historians.
