Bintan lsland is the largest of 3,200 islands in the Riau Archipelago and located at the crossroads of one of the world’s oldest and busiest maritime shipping routes, just 55 minutes catamaran ride from Singapore. Recreational activities include snorkelling, sailing, jet-skiing, canoeing, wind, surfing, golfing, fishing, diving, island hopping and shopping. For sun worshipers there are long white sandy beaches perfect for enjoying the year round warm climate.
Bintan is part of Indonesia and a visa is required. Australian passport holders can currently obtain this on arrival for a fee of either US$10 or US$25 (cash only) depending on your proposed length of stay.
