Welgevonden Game Reserve, in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, is a 36,000-ha private reserve in the Waterberg District. The Dutch word, Welgevonden, can be translated to āwell-foundā, or a āserendipitous discoveryā, which means to occur by chance happily or beneficially way.
Welgevonden is home to more than 65 mammal species, including the famous Big Five, but also rare and unusual species like cheetah, brown hyena, caracal, aardwolf and aardvark, making game drives exceptionally exciting. Welgevonden exhibits diverse habitat types supporting a riot of biodiversity, including over 300 birds.
