A majestic island boasting eight UNESCO World Heritage sites, herds of roaming elephants, pristine tea plantations and idyllic sun kissed beaches, Sri Lanka or Ceylon as it was once known, has so much to offer the discerning traveller. The cultural Triangle is a must visit especially for those with a strong interest in history and/or Buddhism as it boasts four UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These include the medieval capitals of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, the Cave temples at Dambulla and the mighty rock fortress of Sigiriya.

Wildlife and nature lovers will be in their element exploring Sri Lanka’s National Parks, Sanctuaries and Reserves. Observe huge herds of elephants in Minneriya and Uda Walawe National Parks, try to spot the elusive leopard in Yala National Park or head to the south coast for a chance to see the magnificent blue whales. Due to its tropical climate and diverse habitats Sri Lanka is also a birdwatchers paradise with over 400 species to be found throughout the country.

Another major drawcard of Sri Lanka are its people, who in our opinion are amongst the friendliest in the world and genuinely enjoy meeting visitors.
